On Saturday, Tim gave us all a tour of Boston, we went through Boston Common, Boston Garden and down by the water . It was a beautiful day and the walk was fun. The company was great. Saturday night all of the judges, Jeffrey, Glenda, Myself, Justin (Mr. Boston leather2010) Mister J,Brian, Mike headed to the Ramrod and did the interviews. Both contestants did a great job. After interviews I had time do my boots. He did a great job. The contest started and it was fun. The one thing I forgot was my camera so I don't have any pictures to share at this time.
Congrats to David D who is now Mr. Boston Leather 2011

On July 20th Court and I flew to Las Vegas and for first two days went to visit my brother who lives in Sandy Valley Nevada. It is in the middle of the desert. It was great to spend time with my brother , his wife , their 7 dogs and 3 cats. I love dogs but 7 dogs is way too many for me. We took a drive up to a mountain. I cannot remember the name of it at this time but it was a beautiful drive and nice quality time for Court and I with my brother and his wife.
On July 22nd Court and I headed to Las Vegas to Alexis Park Resort and we got settled in our room. We then met up with Boy Taz and several others. We were happy with our room and accommodations. Upon arrival we met up with Tim Starkey International Mr.Boot Black 2010. It was great to see him and chat with him for a bit. we then ate and unpacked then headed to the pool. We spent a lot of time at the pool during this event. It was fun to see so many of the IDL family as well as other deaf. It was also great to see everyone again. We had a great team of judges. We had an auction at the meet and greet and I was thrilled to see Stan and Andy from Harbor Masters of Maine. It was great to see Jeffrey Payne IML2009, Tyler McCormick IML2010, Tim Starkey IMBB 2010. several IDl family such as Philip, Sir Y, Bob Donaldson,Boy Alex, Patrick, Crystal, and so many names to mention. After the meet and greet we headed back to the resort and then went to the pool again. It was a fun night.
On Saturday morning interview was held. We only had one contestant Val Sherill for International Ms Deaf Leather 2010. She was great through the interview and did a great job. It was actually fun. then Saturday afternoon we went to the pool again. Saturday night was cocktails, then dinner then contest. Val's opening was fun and unique. She did well throughout the whole contest and deserved to win as she did. She is our new International Ms Deaf Leather 2010. Prior to Val winning boy Taz and I gave our step aside speeches and showed a great step down video that was made for us by Randy Carmenaty. Thanks Randy.
As there were not contestants for International Mr. Deaf Leather or International Deaf Leatherboy, I was asked if I would take on another year. It was a hard decision to make but after careful thought, I decided I would continue as IMRDL 2010. Boy Taz has completed 2 years and was ready for his step aside. I lost a boy but gained a sash wife. I am proud to have Val Sherill as my sash wife and look forward to a great year with her. Congrats Val..

Gall Bladder YIkes and Maine Pride

I got home from IML on Tuesday and everything was fine. I worked on Wednesday and had a meeting Wednesday night everything was fine. But late Wednesday night I woke up in a lot of pain. It turned out I had huge Gall stones and Gall Bladder problems. I ended up having to have my Gall Bladder and Gall stone removed. It was the first time I had to use a catherer and I hope I never have to use that again. Thank God it did not happen during IML.
I had told my partner Court that I wanted to return to work shortly after I came home. He suggested that I not rush back to work as did my doctor. I finally understood why when I tried to go food shopping and got dizzy. I am glad that is over.
On June 19 was Southern Maine Gay Pride. I have not been to Gay Pride parade for a few years. I was happy to help carry the Harbor Masters Flag. It was great to see everyone for Southern Maine Gay Pride.

International Mr. Leather 2010

Wow,, finally my first time to attend IML. It was a lot of fun and there were lots of people. It was great to see everyone. I arrived Thursday around noon. Took a short nap and waited for Boy Taz to come and join me. Court would arrive much later that night. On first night we all went to the Leather archives Museum to attend Jeffrey Payne's Roasting. Food was served and of Course David watt was where there was a person laying with food on his body.. It was Awesome. The roasting was awesome and the ASL interpreter was great. Bob Donaldson. (IMRDL) also showed up and it was great to spend time with him as well.
On Friday we attended the Leather Market which was great and there were lot of people. Court and I went out to lunch. That night it was an honor to speak about Jeffrey during his step aside speech. IT was Awesome that he had about 5 or 6 people speak and had his IML 31 class come up to the stage. After this Court and I headed to Touche to make an appearance to promote IDL 2010. I ended up speaking with my own voice as they were not able to get interpreter for that night. Thanks to David Boyer from TOUCHE for supporting IDL.
On Saturday we went to the leather market again and I had some downtime. IT was great to see several of the contestants and others.
Sunday was the contest and the entertainment was AWESOME. All the contestants did a great job. Congrats to Tyler McCormick who won as IML 2010 and Tim Starkey who won as International Mr. Boot Black 2010. They are great. History was made when Tyler won . Congrats to Lance Holman Mr. SF Leather 2010 as first runner up and Jack Duke, Mr. Texas Leather 2010 as 2nd runner up.
IML is a fun event. I hope to go again next year. Leather Hugz Terry

Jeffrey and Court at Portnad Headlight

Jeffrey Payne's last stop before his step down

On May 21 in the evening Court and I went to pick Jeffrey up at the airport. I was embarrassed that my car battery died and we had to use my jumper cables to get car started. We then headed home and had a little down time. It was great to see Jeffrey again. It was an honor to have Jeffrey come to Maine as his last stop before his step down.

On Saturday we went to Portland Headlight and Two Lights. We had lunch at Two Lights. It was a beautiful day. Later that evening we headed to Mark and Dave's to have dinner before heading to Blackstone's. It was great to have dinner with Mark , Dave. Stan, Andy, Steve, Mike. Court and a few others. After that we headed to Blackstone's and met up with people. Thanks To Chris and Andy and those who helped sell 50/50 tickets. Thanks to Mark and Dave for hosting a great dinner and Thanks to Blackstone's for being the place for the Fundraiser to happen.
On Sunday, we headed to Blackstone's and the Harbor Masters had most everything set up. There was Bingo, and the Maine Gay Men's Chorus came and sang a few songs. There was also comedy by Kris Francis. There was also a Delicious spaghetti dinner that was made by Mark Holt and Stan Fortuna from the Harbor Masters. Mark, Dave, Stan, Andy Sue and Bill. You all rock and made this event a huge success. I could not have done it without you. Thanks for everything. Thanks to everyone who showed up for the events and also thanks to Justin Gifford for his help as well. You rock Justin. Of course thanks to Ralph and Butch and Blackstone's.
On Monday I had to work but luckily Court was off and could spend time with Jeffrey. One night we had grilled filet Mignon at home. One night we went out to eat and Jeffrey and Court enjoyed their Lobster. I don't eat sea food, people often say you are from Maine and you don't eat sea food. I am from northern Maine, Aroostook county, so I love my potatoes.
On Tuesday Court and I rode up to Rumford Maine where Jeffrey was born and of course Bear Payne went with us. It was unusually humid that day. We then headed back home As Jeffrey was flying to Chicago the next day. It was an honor to have Jeffrey come to Maine and once again thanks to everyone .. Leather Hugz Terry
